The Nitty Gritty

Inspired by a historic exchange between scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose and Rabindranath Tagore in 1899, the great poet penned the dramatic poem Karnakuntisamvad, a moving retelling of the fateful meeting between Karna and his mother Kunti on the eve of the Kurukshetra war. Decades later, poet Buddhadeva Bose revisited the same moment in his play Pratham Partha, enriching the dialogue with new voices and perspectives.

This production, “Dwaita Darpan,” mirrors these two masterpieces across time, reflecting Karna and Kunti in parallel lights—two creations, one timeless story.
